Me and my school

On this website I will introduce my school and myself. This is a class project for my Comruter Science Class. It will be very important for my Quarter Report Card Grade. This work is due 5th November, 2007. That’s when I must finish this website. This is my table of contents:

2. Infomation about my shool

I know these are not many topics, but this is the maximum of what I can do until Monday. Maybe I will put some more photos in it and I’ll make a horror cabinet….
But first let’s come back to our main points.

All about me!!! =)

In this part I will talk about me. I am 15 years old and female. My birthday is on 16th May, 1992, same as my German friend here in Vietnam, which I really appreciate. We both have many things in common: We both come from Germany, but are in Vietnam. Although we come from Germany we are both Chinese and can almost speak the same languages. The only difference is that she has an advantage because she learned a useful third language, which is French. I only studied Latin which is not useless, but still not as useful as French. However I have to do the best of what I have.Since I came here to Vietnam I am disadvantaged to do all the activities I did in Germany. These are Swimming, Golfing, Cheerleading, Riding, Gymnastics and learning Chinese. I cannot do them because first I hav to get used to Vietnam life and second because my schedule became more stressy since I attend AIS. I have so much homework to do and so many exams to study for that my friends already said:

Zou are crazy Patrizia, you make yourself suffer. Why don’t you just come back to Germany you don’t even have Easter or Fall vacation. This school is just oppressing you. You don’t have any fun anymore.

Of course the fact about the vacation is true, but this is the only thing. However, here in Vietnam I have the fun of my life since I have more friends then ever and I can rely on them. I guess I am too fast in telling my life story. Let’s go back to Kindergarten.
Kindergarten was not a good experience since the favorite hobby of the people there were to tease the only Chinese girl in class, which is very natural considering their childish attitude in this age. As I came to Pre-school I had much fun until second grade when my best friend left me. In opposite I would start learn English which still helps me today. Before 4th grade I changed school. This time I would go to a Catholic School. There I found new friends, like children normally do. Nevertheless destiny did not like my relationships because short time after my parents decided that I should go on a different school then them. I would go to a private school, the best in this city. This was my last school when I came here. In this school called ÖG I learned many things and I got much respect. You wanna see its website? Here you are!

Hmm, somehow my site is too short. What can I tell else about me? I do not know…ahh, maybe something about my favourite subject at school. My favourite subject in school is literature. I like to learn about literature, but also about Science, if it is the right teacher, otherwise I have great problems. That is the poblem: I am lazy in writing, but I think it is better than Science or Maths. However Chemistry is also very interesting, but it is futil to study only Chemistry, if you really want to get organized. Nevertheless I think it is the best to study languages, which my current school unfortunately do not offer. And the Contra point is: studying language does not give you a good job-opprtunity in future. Everything is so complicated, which remind us to come back to our next topic: My school!!

My school

My school is as you would know, if you read the pages I linked you to in the upper paragrah BIS AIS. The school was newly founded in 2006. Here is a picture of my school`s logo:

Back to our topic! My school still has a small number of students. They are more than double compared to last year, but we are still a minority. Although we are a small community we take part in many outaschool activities, like College Faires or Halloween parties. Our 11 graders are organizing the first prom right now. We students have much fun in our school, also because of the many different clubs we can participate in. These are:

• Dance Club
• Cheerleader Club
• Basketball Club
• Music Club
• Chess Club
• Journalism Club
• Badminton Club
• Volunteer Club
• Soccer Club
• Tabletennis Club
• Golf Club
• Drama Club

These are a lot of activities the students can participate in. I personally joined Dance and Drama Club. When Drama Club ends, which will be soon, I try to join Cheerleading, although my mom wants me to go to Golf Club. I like both, but I have a bigger affection to Cheerleading in opposite to my mother -.- .

In AIS all grades are present, from 1-10. However there are not enough kids for Kindergarten. We have 50 minutes class and then 4 minutes break to go to our locker and to the next roon. That is not much, is it? Luckily we still have two big breaks (10 and 20 minutes) and an 1-hour-lunch-break. Still there is not much time, that is why many students have problems with arrivning in class on time. But that is not all: We have until 4:35 class and many students have clubs until mostly 5:45, after that they still have to finish loads of homework. This explains why AIS-students are so sleepy in the morning or why they fall asleep during class.

The cafeteria food in the school is as bad as many people say or think, but smart AIS-students have brought their own food. Despite the promises of AIS not to give so many exams on students the average number of exams in AIS is one per week. This is everything else than fair. Also the school policy says we do not need to go to school on Saturdays is broken since clubs like Basketball Club are on Saturday. Again teachers give students many poster or making videos assignments on Friday, so that classmates have to meet on saturdays in school. Sometimes even Dance teachers force classmates to create a dance to a whole song by themselves, which can take several Saturdays if the group is big.
However all in all AIS is a good school with much interest in their students thinking and caring teachers.
